Chatelherault Country Park: Play park
Expansion & Upgrade of the Existing Adventure Playground CH4
The existing children’s play area at Chatelherault will be expanded and improved.
The current play area is surrounded by car park access roads on all sides, and is often overshadowed by trees.
The new playground will expand spatially by removing one of the car park access roads and car parking bays. This will free up space at the western side of the playground.
A pedestrian footpath link will create a more direct connection between the playground and the Hunting Lodge, which will allow visitors to avoid having to walk through the car park.

The play equipment will be replaced and the play provision expanded – there is an opportunity to provide themed play equipment which complements the historic character of the site.
Some existing items of play equipment may be repaired and retained where appropriate.
Adjacent to the playground, a new Gatehouse acts as an arrival point to Chatelherault and provides an opportunity for a cafe and seating overlooking the playground. Further detail is presented on board CH6.
