Enhanced power, water, and Wi-Fi infrastructure to the events lawn, historic lodges and play park are a key investment priority.
Dependable services will reduce reliance on generators and support sustainable outdoor events and catering through the use of green grid power. These improvements to infrastructure will be sensitively integrated into the landscape, allowing existing facilities to host a broader range of events while preserving the park’s natural setting.
The Gatehouse pavilion is strategically located for it’s adjacencies to the play park, car park, and events space, facing the national cycle route for optimal convenience. The pavilion provides a point of shelter from the ever-changing Scottish weather, and includes information panels detailing walking routes, events, and community meetings. A kiosk serves light refreshments to visitors like parents, children, cyclists, and dog walkers.
The Gatehouse houses a control room supporting event infrastructure (power, Wi-Fi, water, sound, lighting) and a well-lit medium-sized community space with a toilet and tea area. Accessible sanitary facilities and the Kiosk are strategically placed to ensure accessibility even when other parts of the building are occupied or closed.
The roof’s overhang provides external shelter, while activating a gathering space outside the kiosk. Large glazed windows to the community space offer scenic views of the surrounding woodlands, establishing a connection nature.
